Strengthening Freedom of Expression Online
Internet users are facing serious challenges while some facebook users, bloggers and online activists have already been put into jail for free expression in the internet in Bangladesh. Massive communication surveillance and content monitoring of internet users as well as policies which are specifically designed to hamper the right to freedom of expression and human rights are issues as well.
The Strengthening Freedom of Expression Online project helps to raise critical awareness among different stakeholders and to help organize capacity-building training and multi-stakeholder consultations. Both activities address issues of privacy and freedom of expression along with the existing institutional practices on legal and policy regulations to rise within a human rights framework. Voice is workign with the Global Partners and Associates and WebWeWant platform on this project.
